Natural resource wealth is the value of a country's natural resources, which can be a significant contributor to a country's wealth.

Natural resources can be used to fund development and industrial growth, but a sudden influx of money from natural resources can also lead to social issues. Here are some things to consider about natural resource wealth:

Types of natural resources :

• Natural resources can be categorized as biotic (living and organic) or abiotic (non-living).
• They can also be renewable, like wind, sunlight, and forests, or non-renewable, like fossil fuels and mined metals.

Resource curse :

A sudden influx of money from natural resources, can lead to social issues like inflation, corruption, and inequality. This is known as the "resource curse".

Many erstwhile colonized countries in the Global South, have been victim of resource curse, emanating from the struggle for and exploitation of, natural resources.
